GigaByte K8 Triton Socket 754 Motherboard

Gigabyte GA-K8U

02/20/06

The Gigabyte GA-K8U is a 754 Socket AMD motherboard supporting AGP and all the standard extras. Some of you might be wondering why I am going backwards and looking at a 754-socket motherboard when all the new stuff is 939 or better. The answer to the question is simple, Money or Cost. For many people times are getting tougher and its hard to pay the big bucks and invest into a hole new motherboard CPU and for the unfortunate folks the purchased a high end graphics card that is AGP a new video card to. So what we are going to do is set this motherboard up with a lower end CPU 2800+ 64 bit to be exact and a mid ranged AGP card and see how well it does. Then we will compare the numbers and the price to see if it is worth purchasing this solution, versus the new 939 stuff…
